Project: Charity Boxing Event for Mental Health

Overview:
I collaborated with UCD Commerce and Economics Society and the Headon Boxing Academy to participate in a boxing event at Leopards Town, aiming to support The Reuvenfield Foundation's mental health mission.

​

Objective:
Raise funds and awareness for increased access to mental health care in Ireland through The Reuvenfield Foundation.

​

Background:
Established in July 2021 by Scott Field, The Reuvenfield Foundation guarantees that all donations directly benefit the cause, with the founders covering all operational expenses.

​

Significance:
Over 40% of Irish adults face mental health challenges. Despite this, only 5.1% of Ireland's 2021 health budget targeted mental health, emphasizing the urgent need for initiatives like The Reuvenfield Foundation.

​

Outcome:
Funds raised helped secure a mobile mental health unit in partnership with the Peter McVerry housing charity, assisting recently housed homeless individuals.

Emerald

Internship at Emerald Professional Protection Products:

Overview:

My internship at Emerald Professional Protection Products offered me a unique vantage point into the workings of a major importer. I was entrusted with the crucial task of maintaining their customer contact database and generating weekly reports to assist decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities & Learnings:

 

Database Management: I was responsible for meticulously updating and maintaining a comprehensive customer contact database. This involved regularly vetting information for accuracy, ensuring that the communication channels between the company and its clients remained unobstructed.

 

Weekly Reporting: Every week, I generated detailed reports which provided valuable insights into various business aspects. These reports aided the company in identifying trends, areas of improvement, and growth opportunities.

 

Supply Chain Insights: My exposure to weekly statistics gave me a deeper understanding of the logistics and supply chain. I learned about the intricacies of product importing, from procurement to customer delivery.

 

Team Collaboration: Working closely with multiple departments, from procurement to sales, I enhanced my teamwork and collaboration skills, ensuring that all data was synchronized and updated across different teams.

Eastern Mountain Sports

EMS Sales Professional:

Overview:

During my tenure at Eastern Mountain Sports, a renowned retail sports store, I took on the critical role of assisting a diverse customer base, helping them navigate through myriad products to identify and select the ideal gear for their outdoor adventures.

 

Challenges & Achievements:

 

Diverse Customer Needs: With customers ranging from novice adventurers to seasoned outdoor enthusiasts, understanding and meeting their varying needs was both challenging and rewarding.

 

Product Expertise: My role required in-depth product knowledge. I had to familiarize myself with different equipment specifications, benefits, and ideal use cases. Through this, I gained expertise in various sporting equipment ranging from hiking gear to water sports accessories.

 

Sales & Customer Feedback: During my time, I assisted in numerous transactions, each time ensuring a seamless experience for the customer. My consistent efforts led to a significant increase in customer satisfaction, as depicted by positive feedback and a decrease in product returns.
